Sometimes a regrettable word choice happens when we are under a deadline: the image of what is intended might be clear in our minds, but, in a rush, we perhaps overlook a few old standards:
“They had many reasons for wanting to establish there website…”
A few weeks ago, we looked at our own website, and decided to sharpen A Welcome Boost’s blog. Though the errors might not have been as glaring as the example above, the look was old, and we wanted to build a stronger, clearer message for friends, clients, web surfers, and potential business partners.
Reviewing one’s work from time to time is, of course, essential. Yet, sometimes, the most obvious errors get missed. Today, a first impression is often not made in person, but in the words we choose to print and the order and sense we give them. Updating and re-thinking one’s message cannot be stressed strongly enough.
We do a pretty good job of catching the inadvertent line and correcting it. Our experience allowed us to edit projects that are as varied as the New York City classical music industry, personal memoirs, travel books, plus a local fishing charter and area nonprofits. We’ve also tutored high school seniors getting ready for college. We are meticulous about getting it right.
